MWC 2011: HTC unveils HTC Flyer tablet and five new smartphones

HTC showcases six new devices at MWC 2011 – the HTC Flyer, HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire S, HTC ChaCha and the HTC Salsa

HTC has announced its first tablet device, the HTC Flyer, at Mobile World Congress 2011. A 7 inch tablet device, the HTC Flyer boasts of 1.5GHz single core processor, Android Gingerbread, 32 GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAMThe Flyer packs a 5 megapixel colour camera with auto focus, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 7 inch touch-sensitive TFT screen with 1024 X 600 resolution and a stylus, designed for use as a secondary input.Then there is the HTC Incredible S, couple of second and third-generation versions of its popular models (HTC Wildfire and HTC Desire Z) and two brand new Facebook devices HTC Salsa and HTC ChaCha smartphones, featuring dedicated Facebook buttons.The HTC Incredible comes with a 4 inch touchscreen with 480x800 resolution, 1.3 megapixel front camera and an 8 megapixel colour camera with auto focus and dual LED. The device offers 1GHz processor, 1.1 GB RAM, 768 MB ROM and 720p HD video recording.The HTC Desire S and HTC Wildfire S both feature an aluminium ('Industrial Design') unibody – although there is hardly much improvement in the specs where HTC left off last year with the earlier models of the same series, which is a little disappointing.The HTC Wildfire S packs a 3.2 inch touch screen with 320x480 resolution, 5 megapixel colour camera with auto focus and flash and 600MHz processor on board. The device offers 512 MB of ROM and 512 MB of RAM.The next device, the HTC Desire S displays a 3.7 inch touchscreen with 480 x 800 resolution, 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and power LED flash and 1 GHz processor. It further offers 1.1 GB RAM, 768 MB ROM and microSD card support.HTC has introduced its two new Facebook phones HTC Salsa and HTC ChaCha. These new social phones comes with one-touch Facebook access. The HTC Salsa features 3.4 inch display, HTC Sense, 5 megapixel camera and a VGA front-facing camera.The final device in the series, the HTC ChaCha sports 2.6 inch landscape touchscreen display, HTC Sense, QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel color camera with auto focus and LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.All these new HTC devices will be available to customers globally during Q2 2011.
