Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia introduces an object finder solution at the Consumer Electronics Show, Las Vegas. Christened as 'Locate Sensor,' the application as well as the product will help you locate your some of the most important objects that you tend to loose at a daily basis. For example, the solution would help you find your car keys, wallet, flashlights or anything else through your Nokia mobile phone. The concept is being researched and developed at Nokia Research Laboratory. To enable your mobile phone to find your lost objects, you need to attach a small thumb-shaped wireless tag to the object. And the finder application resides on your mobile phone. However, the application does not run on GPS technology, in order to find objects indoor as well as outdoor. If you loose any object that has the wireless tag attached and if it is in the range of 100 meters, then your mobile phone would notify of its presence as well as the direction to its loction. The system also works the other way round. If you have the sensor or the tag attached object with you and you are unable to locate your phone, it beeps and lets you know its presence. Intrestingly enough, the wireless tag/sensor consumes least amount of power which is provided by a tiny battery. And, if we believe Nokia, then the tag can run continuously for 18 months untill the battery is run out of power. Wow. Though it is at the conceptual stage now, its promising enough to change our sense of responsibility.
