Call it a mob of mobiles, cacophony of clamshells, bevy of bar phones or swarm of smartphones; they are all there to garner your attention - this IPL season 3. Mobile phone makers are pitching aggressively to announce and launch their latest new products and entice the entire cricket crazy nation with cool gadgets during the IPL.Before the IPL T20 cricket Tournament started, we heard lots of announcements about apps for mobile phones to watch live IPL matches. It started with an IPL T20 app that landed on iPhone. Then it was July Systems that announced its tie up with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and its licensing partner Global Cricket Ventures (GCV) to launch an IPL mobile internet service.The company received overwhelming response from the Indian mobile subscribers as July Systems claims that the ball by ball video scorecard offered over its MIX platform has already witnessed over 700 hours of IPL videos being downloaded by users.While Vodafone was offering online booking of IPL tickets through its m-shop, Airtel gifted a special 2Mbps broadband speed upgrade for all its customers to enjoy faster live streaming of IPL matches on the YouTube. Whereas Tata DOCOMO's Daily Plans offer a chance to party with the IPL stars. Also, you can download IPL Zoozoo Widget by Vodafone for viewing match scores other live IPL updates.On the prime time ad slot during IPL, the adrenaline-pumping matches are equally complemented by star-studded mobile phone promos. If Micromax G4 Gamolution was promoted by Akshay Kumar's newly-patented laugh, the Indian Cricket team captain MS Dhoni is regularly spotted with the recently launched INQ mobile phones. Meanwhile, John Abraham is sportingly auctioning Abhay Deol's belongings with his LG Cookie Pep mobile phone.Samsung too jumped the bandwagon and assembled blockbuster team for its Samsung Guru mobile phone. The ad features Aamir Khan who tries to connect with the hinterland, while keeping in the traditional Indian family values, with the punchline of 'Dil toh Jeb Mein Rakha hai'. Also, Samsung's dual-SIM Duos Touch mobile phone is doing the rounds during the live IPL matches.Another ad of Nokia 5233 mobile phone shows Bollywood's Adah Sharma mallwalking and appearing with different attires trying to match with the tunes of Sharman Joshi. Then there are other official or non-official sponsors. MAXX Mobile is sponsoring IPL Strategic Timeouts and Playoff Games. Similarly, Videocon, Karbonn Mobiles, Spice Mobile and many other mobile phone ads are rotating in between the matches. In case you have missed out, here is something really interesting.
