Sony Ericsson Jalou unveiled

Sony Ericsson's Jalou is more about sharp looks than a sharp feature set

Published on Mar 17, 2011

Sony Ericsson has launched a new style-conscious designer phone in the global market. The phone is just 73mm long. However, its India availability and pricing could not be ascertained at this moment. A clamshell device, the Jalou has a rather angular look to it, with rather sharp edges to all of its corners and not a curve on sight on any of its buttons. Striking as its looks are, its feature set is a little more ordinary. The Jalou has a 3.2-megapixel camera with geo-tagging and an RDS FM radio. It’s also the first Sony Ericsson phone to feature Walk Mate, which counts how many steps you’ve taken. Although perhaps not quite enough to run an exercise programme by on its lonesome, it’s a neat feature for estimating how long you’ve walked. The Jalou’s perfect partner is more likely to wear heels than trainers, mind. There’s also a Dolce&Gabbana special edition of the Jalou, but it probably won’t come cheap. It features 24-carat gold plating - seemingly on its buttons. Of rather less value is the fashion content bundled the special edition Jalou, featuring photos and video clips from Dolce&Gabbana’s Autumn/Winter 2010 runway show.
