Videocon plans to launch 15 new mobile phones in India in coming months

Videocon, a market leader in the consumer electronics and home appliances segment in India, has announced its presence in the mobile handset market with the launch of new mobile phones. The company has launched 15 new sizzling mobile models (from entry-level phones to high-end devices) to announce their entry into the mobile handset domain in India.Videocon already has its presence in the mobile handset market with 12 existing mobile devices; however, the company plans to introduce more new mobile phones in India over the next couple of months."We are very new in this segment and aim to be among the top three players by achieving a double-digit market share this year. We would launch 15 more models in the next two months," Videocon Mobile Phones Division's Chief Operating Officer Rahul Goel said in Mumbai.Videocon mobile phones are currently offered at a price range of Rs 1,600 to Rs 18,500 for sale through Planet M retail outlets.
