LG has announced the launch of LG Optimus One smartphone powered with Android 2.2 (Froyo) in India

The Android-powered LG Optimus One has finally arrived in India and the company stated earlier that the device is already very popular and over 1 million units have been sold since its launch in other countries. LG Electronics India Managing Director Moon B Shin said, "We entered the smartphone segment later than many of our competitors. But over the next six months, we will launch 10 more devices in the Optimus series, priced between Rs 8,000-30,000".The first device in India supporting Android 2.2 aka Froyo update, the LG Optimus One comes with a a 3 megapixel camera, 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen, stereo Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm headset jack. The 3G-enabled LG Optimus One's tech specs include 170 MB of internal memory with microSD card support, 600 MHz processor, 1500 mAh battery, GPS, Wi-Fi and stereo FM radio.The LG Optimus One smartphone is priced at Rs. 13,500 in India.
