Country's second largest CDMA operator announces the launch of its GSM services in the country

Tata Teleservices, India's second largest CDMA mobile service provider today announced the launch of GSM services in the country. The company has partnered with Japanese telecom services provider NTT DoCoMo for its GSM service. Branded as 'Tata-DoCoMo', the service would be commercially rolled out towards the end of this month in the southern region, followed by the western and northern regions. The pan-India roll-out of the service would be completed by this year-end. Tata Teleservices has become the second telecom service provider after Reliance Communication to be providing services on both CDMA and GSM platforms under the dual-technology policy of the Indian government.
