Moto's most hyed tablet, Xoom went up for sale online yesterday but was swiftly pulled back. The 10.1-inch Motorola Xoom which runs on Android 3.0 and features a 5-megapixel camera is scheuled for release on Thursday a day after Apple iPad 2. The device comes with a wi-fi which can be activated if the user goes for a minimum of one-month data subscription. One can only hope that they don't have similar plans for the launch in India. Another android tablet sharing the space with Motorola Xoom is Adam, an Indian company Notion Ink's product which was showcased at the CES 2011 this year. While both are Android tablets with NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processors, there are a number of differences including the price margins. While Notion Ink's focus is releasing adam in UK and USA first, a lot of mumbling and grumbling by the fans over the internet on, "how come a indian product is not available in India", prompted the company to spring in action and also make a statement regarding the cause of delay. On their blog which have updates about the tablet and company news, founder Rohan Shravan wrote, "on the delay part (Indian one), there was a bribe demand from some of the people associated in releasing the product from customs. Notion Ink would not pay them and that’s the reason for delay. (This time to ease deliveries in India, Gati had ordered all the product at once to Bombay and then ship it from there instead of one shipment per customer from China.) This endangers Notion Ink’s spirits of selling Adam in India as well, but we have to take risk and absorb loss to make this Nation cleaner (it’s a headache for me and customer, specially because it’s consuming a lot of time, but I remember once discussing with my friends that if I have opportunity, I will fight against it, and I think this is the starting).
