Nokia becomes the first manufacturer to offer a handset with both touchscreen and keypad

Nokia recently announced the launch of a new mid-range multimedia smartphone, the Nokia X3 Touch and Type. The handset is Nokia's first attempt to manufacture a phone coupled with a keypad and touchscreen. The 9.6mm thick phone is lightweight and thin as it weighs just 78 grams. The 5 megapixel camera supports 4 X digital zoom and possesses the ability to capture videos. It is a quad-band device that offers support for FM radio, music player, Wi-Fi, HSPA and 3G. The phone comes with messaging keys and dedicated music utilities, and would be offered with Ovi Music Unlimited, thereby enabling users to access library of more than 11 million tracks in selected countries. A MicroSD memory card slot is provided for extra storage - up to 16GB. The battery of Nokia X3 Touch and Type can remain in standby mode for up to 17 days with a talk time of about 5 hours. Initially, the phone would be commercially available for sale in Yemen, Mexico and Saudi, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, the UK, Ireland and China.The user will have the option to choose from 5 colours and the phone would sport a brushed aluminium finish, when launched.No official announcement has been made yet about its launch and sale price in the Indian market.
