Binatone has forayed into the Indian market with the launch of its first Android tablet device - Home Surf Touch

The tablet season has kicked off in India. And the latest player to joined the bandwagon is Binatone, a UK-based consumer electronics company. Earlier, we heard announcements from Spice, Olive Telecom, Samsung and Dell about their plans to roll out tablet devices. Now Binatone has introduced its maiden Android tablet offering in the form of Home Surf Touch in India at a very reasonable price.Sat Murthi, the Executive Vice President of Binatone India said, "We are committed to breaking the barriers of technology reaching the masses. Our products are specifically 'Indianised' with careful market research for special features like 'Audio boost', 'Power saver' and 'Binatone Zone'." The company further stated that the Home Surf Touch Tablet can access the internet on Wi-Fi. The battery operated device can retain its charge for several hours in video, web browsing and many other applications for daily use.The new Binatone Home Surf Touch tablet sports an 8 inch resistive screen, runs Android 1.6 and offers ARM 11 667 MHz processor. The device is equipped with Wi-Fi, 2GB onboard storage and 128 MB RAM. Although, the device does not feature 3G, the users of Binatone Home Surf Touch tablet can access Internet via Wi-Fi.The Binatone Home Surf Touch Android tablet is priced approximately at Rs 9,000 in the Indian market.
