Internet telephony company Skype is reported to have announced its plans to launch its services for Apple iPhone and Research in Motion's BlackBerry phones. The company has said it would launch its service for iPhone on Tuesday and BlackBerry users would get this service in coming May. The Skype internet telephony is very popular among internet users as the service enables users to make calls to computers around the globe free of cost and to fixed line and mobile telephones at a very low price. It uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology to enable calls between two differnet networks. Currently, Skype offers its telephony service to few smart phones running on Android, Windows and Symbian operating systems. The service will also work fine with Apple iPods and you do not need a cellular connection for this. It works on Wi-Fi and an added microphone will fix your conversation problems with another iPod user within a W-Fi hotspot.
