Nokia, which ranks among the largest mobile handset giant, announced the launch of Nokia X6 8GB on Twitter in India. The phone is powered by the Symbian S60 version 5 and offers a slick 3.2 inch finger touch interface with a resolution of 360X640 pixels. The powerful entertainment device plays 35 hours of music and 4 hours of video, besides supporting all main digital music formats with 8GB of on-board memory. Nokia X6 sports a 5 megapixel camera with features such as auto focus, LED flash and Carl Zeiss lens with 4X digital zoom. For connectivity, the device supports EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth, microUSB and 3G-HSDPA speed of about 3.6 Mbps. In addition, the phone has stereo speakers and 3.5 mm audio jack. All music lovers enjoy free unlimited access to many tracks on the Nokia Ovi Music store and can play many music formats such as MTP, WMA, eAAC+, AAC+, AAC, SpMidi and MP3. Nokia X6 supports 6 hours of talk time under 3G/UMTS network and about 12 hours of talk time in 2G/2.75G GSM network. The smartphone comes with an alphanumeric keypad and on-screen QWERTY, which automatically changes with display rotation. Users can view videos, photos and browse on the 16:9 widescreen. It brings social networking applications such as Facebook on the homescreen, thereby making it easier to socialize with friends. The smartphone offers gaming options to the user by embedding 3 games - Spore by EA, Asphalt4 and DJ Mix Tour by Gameloft. It offers direct access from the home screen for downloading more applications and games from the Ovi store. The device would be approximately priced at about Rs. 15,000 in India.
