Android apps coming soon to a BlackBerry near you?

We were told we can expect to run Android apps on RIM's upcoming PlayBook tablet but it seems that the Canadian developer has a little surprise in store for users of its other devices. Evidence has been uncovered of various BlackBerry devices being used to access ShopSavvy's service via its Android application. According to the developer, its service has been accessed by a BlackBerry 8300, 8620 and 8520 since January, and where were these hits eminating from? You guessed it, Waterloo, Ontario - home of RIM. If the information, unearthed by BGR, proves accurate it would seem that the Canadian firm is looking to bring access to Android's diverse software library to all of its users, rather than limiting it to those using its new QNX-based operating system. We can't help but feel that it could be a masterstroke for RIM, as it will serve to open BlackBerry up to a world of potential customers that choose devices based on diverse app support.
