MWC 09: LG displays 8-megapixel concept phone

LG has previewed the GC900 at Mobile World Congress as the follow-up to the hugely popular KU990 Viewty

Though LG mobile phones are more accepted in the CDMA segment in India, it's GSM phone KU900 viewty has been well appreciated. In the recently concluded MWC 09, LG previewed the GC900, although its appearance was a little undermined by the Watch phone and Arena. The GC900 is a work-in-progress device that, although not named as such, is a follow-up to the popular Viewty. Against the upcoming LG Arena, the GC900 has a more impressive camera, offering 8-megapixels over the Arena's 5-megapixels. The lens is a Scheider-Kreuznach, like the one used in the original Viewty. The phone is slimmer than the Viewty though, measuring 12.4mm thick against the Viewty's beefier 14.8mm.
