Samsung releases Galaxy Tab in India

As reported earlier, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has now arrived in India. The device will be available in the stores in just 09 days from now. However, you can prebook your Samsung Galaxy Tab from the official Samsung website now by depositing Rs. 1000 initially.

The Apple's iPad rival has reached India - the second tablet device, after Dell Streak, to be launched in India. However, another desi tablet device OlivePad has already marked its entry in India at much cheaper price compared to these big global names.

The iPad killer, Samsung Galaxy Tab sports a 7 inch touchscreen, which is slightly smaller than the Apple iPad with a 9.7 inch screen. Powered by the Google's Android 2.2 operating system, the Galaxy Tab is lighter than the iPad at about 385 grams.

Touted as the best Android tablet device available in the market to date, the Samsung Galaxy Tab comes equipped with 1.2 Ghz Hummingbird processor, a front facing 3 megapixel camera with 1.3 megapixel rear camera and 16 GB of internal memory. The new Samsung tablet device comes preloaded with e-reading app - the 'Reader's Hub'. You can access over 100,000 Indian songs on the Galaxy tab via Samsung Mobile web and wapsite. The users can get MapmyIndia navigation package free as an introductory offer along with the Galaxy Tab.

Although, there is no official word on the carrier partners, but Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, Tata DOCOMO and RCom will be announcing their Galaxy Tab's data plans and offers soon.
