We take a look at the best Android phones in India at the moment

Published on Mar 17, 2011

Google's Android operating system launched more than a year ago and there are a whole load of phones, suiting different users. We take a look at the best Android phones available in India at the moment. Samsung Galaxy S The Galaxy S offers the closest experience to an iPhone without being one, and certainly without using iOS and all of its limitations. If you're wanting an Android device, which brings together support for all of the Google applications and services, as well as offering proper multitasking, the Galaxy S is up there as one of the top devices. HTC Desire The HTC Desire is a top-notch piece of kit and its big screen and fast processor are huge plus points. If you don’t need these and want to save some wonga, the less expensive Legend might be a better choice. But the Legend doesn’t have quite the wow factor. Motorola Milestone The Motorola Milestone is one of the best Android devices, and certainly the best Motorola device to date. The hardware is pleasing, from the slimline case and premium finish, down to the speedy ARM Cortex A8 550 MHz processor. The only aspect that lets it down is the keyboard, although this is only a small foible that's easy to forgive. Garmin-Asus A10 Garmin's partnership with Asus has resulted in the Garmin-Asus A10, an Android-based phone and a top choice for navigation. The touchscreen device includes a a 3.2-inch HVGA display and5-megapixel camera with autofcus and geotagging. The Garmin A10 will keep pumping out directions and turn-by-turn voice commands even when you're out of signal. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 The Xperia X10 has some notable features, like its 8-megapixel camera and impressive screen, but lacks fundamental components that can be found on a whole host of smartphones that are cheaper and far superior to it LG Optimus One All in all, the LG Optimus One is something of a standout budget Android device. It has many features that a lot the competition lack, such as Android 2.2, instead of merely 2.1, a capacitive touchscreen and an absolute shed-load of storage. Motorola Backflip The Motorola Backflip is an unusual device with a 320x480 pixel screen, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash and 2GB memory. Under the main screen, there's a touch sensitive panel and a Qwerty keyboard. << Previous | 1 | 2 | Next >>
