Apple's latest offering is a cross between a smartphone and a laptop. Portrayed as a tablet computer, the iPad is an internet-enabled multimedia slate that is all set to redefine the future of consumer-electronics technology.An all-in-one device, the touchscreen-enabled iPad Tablet is designed to browse the Web, read email and books and play games. The iPad device runs the same operating system as the iPhone. Furthermore, the device is compatible with Apple's iTunes store, built-in iPhoto and provides access to 140,000 apps on the App Store. Apple's highly acclaimed iPad is a 0.5 inch thin device that sports a 9.7-inch, 1024x768 pixel LCD multitouch screen display and 16-64GB memory. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, a speaker Bluetooth, microphone and internal speaker. It is powered by Apple's next-generation 1GHz microprocessor called A4. The iPad supports 10 hours' battery life with a month's standby time.The price of Apple's iPad will depend on the configuration that users opt for and the device goes ready for ship in next 2 months. Apple's iPad will be offered in three sizes - $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB and $699 for 64GB.
