Many new Symbian^4 screenshots have been posted on the Symbian Foundation's developer Wiki. With an enhancement over the Symbian^3 and S60, the screenshots may not be the most innovative user interface (UI). The screenshots include certain features such as a numeric touchscreen keypad, pop-up menus, redesigned widgets, app categories. These screenshots are grabs from an emulator by using the Qt for Windows SDK.The Symbian^4 features a drop-down menu arrow on the left side. On the right of the main bar, there is an Application Menu launcher button with a drop-down options menu in the center. Also, the battery indicator and signal bars have been shifted from the left side of the main bar to a slim top bar.The bottom of the home screen is occupied by the most widely used dots, which show the current status of the home screen to the user. Some changes could be made to Symbian^4 while in its development stage but the release version is expected to feature a similar home screen design with minimal changes. Symbian^4 is expected to be released by the end of this year and the devices running on it would be available by the second quarter of 2011.
