As confirmed by the the Wi-Fi Alliance, Samsung Galaxy S will be the first smartphone to use the new Wi-Fi Direct standard.Samsung Galaxy S (GT-I9000) will now come enabled with Wi-Fi Direct technology which allows Wi-Fi capable devices to send, sync and share information, without the need for an access point. Users of Galaxy S can now enjoy multiplayer gaming, file-sharing and wireless streaming to their TV or music system with this new upgrade.As Wi-Fi Direct technology is offered through firmware update so users will not require any additional hardware to install this feature.
