Google has introduced Gesture Search app for Android (version 2.0 or newer) devices. With this smart feature, Android users can now easily find contacts, installed apps, music tracks and bookmarks stored on their smartphone devices. The users only need to draw alphabets on their devices to get a list of similar items stored in their devices. The Official Google Mobile Blog states: "Gesture Search is a new Google Labs application for Android-powered devices running Android 2.0 or above in the US. Gesture Search lets you quickly find a contact, an installed application, a bookmark or a music track from hundreds or thousands of items, by simply drawing alphabet gestures on the touch screen."It works simply like this. If you want to make a call to someone by the name starting with alphabet 'A'. All you need to do is to open Gesture Search and draw letter 'A', and Gesture Search returns a list of items stored in your mobile that have words starting with 'A'. If 'A' that you have drawn on the device resembles somewhat close to 'H', the Gesture Search feature will return results including items stored with 'H' letter on your device as well.Google's Gesture Search currently recognizes the English alphabet and requires Android 2.0 or above. To download Gesture Search, you can search for it in Android Market. Alternatively, you can download Google Gesture Search via scanning QR code.
