First spotted at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the new Sony Ericsson S006 is a 16MP camera phone. The device will reportedly run on a proprietary Java-based OS.The key features of the Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot S006 include a 16.2-megapixel touch controlled camera, a speedy 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.3-inch touchscreen with portrait slide-out keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.However, the high point of the camera phone is its new high-sensitive 'Exmor' CMOS sensors which are back-illuminated, helping you take beautiful pictures in dim light conditions, with ISO settings up to as high as ISO 12800. Reportedly, the device is waterproof as well.Phone Arena reports that the device is ready for the Spring lineup of the Japanese carrier KDDI. So the new Sony Ericsson S006 is all set to give a run for the money to the Nokia N8 with 12-megapixel camera.
