Microsoft employees will soon be getting free Windows Phone 7 devices

Microsoft has announced its intentions to gift a free Windows 7 Phone to over 90,000 employees. The move mirrors the approach adopted by Apple in 2007 when all its full-time employees were promised an iPhone just before the launch for rewarding its employees. The new Windows Phone 7 displays a completely different interface. Instead of traditional icon thumbnails, Microsoft has optimised the home screen with tiles that are scrollable, customisable, updated dynamically and heavily focused on social media. Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 boasts of impressive features that include scrollable tiles interface. The tiles are also designed in a way that these can be easily integrated with other Microsoft products such as Office, Outlook, the music player Zune and the gaming platform X-Box Live.Until now, Microsoft encouraged its workers to use Windows Mobile devices but witnessed many preferred an iPhone, Android or a Blackberry device. Hopefully, the company's move to gift free Windows Phone to employees will help the device gain word-of-mouth promotion in quick time. The Windows Phone 7 is expected to be released by Christmas 2010.
