Motorola unveils Android-based smartphone Motoroi in Korea

Motorola has launched Motoroi, the first Android-based phone, in South Korea

Motorola's latest device Motoroi is the first smartphone that will operate under Google's Android 2.0 platform. Motoroi, with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, will feature raft of applications that will be powered by SK Telecom Co., Motorola’s exclusive local partner and the largest mobile carrier by subscribers in the country."Motoroi is a smartphone without compromise, delivering a wiser, richer web and messaging experience with the most delightful touch-interface you have ever experienced, all made possible through the combination of Motorola’s expertise in design, a truly differentiated Android experience, and the power of SK Telecom’s network," Sanjay Jha, Chief Executive Officer of Motorola Mobile Devices said in a statement.On the spec front, Motorola Motoroi is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and 720p HD video recording, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5 text-input methods: 3×4 keypad, full QWERTY and half QWERTY keyboard.Motoroi offers Google services integration that include Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk. It is further powered with Widget & HDMI support. The phone comes with 8GB storage space, microSD support up to 32GB and multitouch support. Furthermore, it offers DMB connectivity and up to 24 TV and audio channels for free to its users.Although, there is not much information on the pricing details of this handset, but Motorola's Motoroi smartphone will be hitting the shelves in the Korean market by early February.
