MWC 2010: Acer announces a slew of smartphones

Acer has announced six new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

Acer has added six new smartphones to its growing portfolio with the launch of Liquid e, beTouch E110, beTouch E400, the NeoTouch P300, NeoTouch P400 and a Ferrari-branded handset. Acer's latest smartphones include Android-powered and Windows Mobile handsets. We take a quick look at the latest devices unveiled by Acer at MWC.Liquid e: Acer announced Liquid e first, a device that runs Android 2.1. Similar to Liquid A1, the Acer Liquid e features a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera, a 768MHz snapdragon processor and 256MB of RAM. Liquid e is further equipped with GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi Fi and Bluetooth 2.0. beTouch E110: The next in the series is Acer beTouch E110 that runs Android 1.5 on a 416 MHz processor. Acer beTouch E110 is an affordable handset that comes with a 2.8-inch touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera and FM tuner. It’ll be available next month in black and dark blue. The device is further equipped with GPS, Bluetooth (but no WiFi) and a new innovative keyboard that users can manipulate to three separate configurations.beTouch E400: Acer's beTouch E400 runs the new Android 2.1 Eclair OS. It is equipped with a 600 MHz Qualcomm processor and a 3.2-inch HVGA resistive touchscreen. The smartphone is equipped with a video-ready 3.2 megapixel camera that comes with digital zoom and a built-in flash. There is a LED-lit 'Acer lighting behaviour' feature that indicates users about battery and new message status.neoTouch P300: Acer neoTouch P300 is based on WinMo 6.5.3. The device is equipped with a 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen; slide-out, back-lit Qwerty and Wi Fi. The P300 comes with WiFi, HSDPA, GPS, and 3G capabilities. Preloaded with 528MHz Qualcomm processor, Acer neoTouch P300 sports a 3.2 megapixel camera. The device is expected to be available in March.neoTouch P400: Acer neoTouch P400 is the second Windows mobile in this series. The P400 is another WinMo 6.5.3 device with 600 MHz processor. Displaying a 3.2-inch HVGA screen, the smartphone is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi Fi and an accelerometer. The NeoTouch P400 will be available in May 2010.Ferrari Phone: The last announcement in this series was Acer's Ferrari phone. The device is expected to run the new Android 2.1 Éclair. The Ferrari phone is slated to be released sometime in March 2010.
