Samsung Wave, Galaxy S officially arrives in India

Samsung has finally launched its most eagerly awaited high-end smartphones Samsung Wave and Samsung Galaxy S in the Indian market

Samsung Wave, as reported earlier, was slated to be launched soon in India along with Samsung Galaxy S. With the launch of these new Samsung devices, the mobile phone market in India is becoming more competitive with a slew of high-end smartphones launched in the recent times."We are introducing 'bada' (ocean in Korean), our new mobile platform, that will be the key driver for our global smartphone strategy. In the coming months, we will launch more hi-end handsets to further consolidate our position in the Indian mobile market," told Samsung President and CEO (South West Asia) J. S. Shin on the launch event.Both these new Samsung smartphones feature the world's first Super AMOLED screen, delivering superb display experience on the phones to the users. Furthermore, Samsung Wave (S8500) and Galaxy S (i9000) come equipped with a 1GHz powerful processor and intuitive TouchWiz 3.0 user interface (UI).Featuring in many stories earlier, the tech specs of Samsung Wave is not new for the mobile enthusiasts. Just for the recap, the Wave runs on 'bada' platform, Samsung's proprietary open operating system (OS), through which users can download raft of applications from Samsung Apps. It is also the world's first DivX HD certified phone. Equipped with a 3.3 inch Super AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display, the device comes with a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus, and photo editor.                         The next smartphone Samsung Galaxy S i9000 runs Android OS 2.1. This high-end device boasts of some impressive tech specs as the key features of this phone include a 4 inch Super AMOLED WVGA screen display, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and 1GHz processor. Galaxy S further offers access to Android market, microSD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack.Samsung Wave and Galaxy S are priced at Rs. 19,100 and Rs. 31,500, respectively.Check out Samsung Wave full technical specifications.
