Research in Motion may announce the arrival of a tablet computer by the end of 2010. The company is most likely to join the tablet segment with a product called BlackPad, thereby fueling the speculation.Although many tablet models lack keypad abilities but enable the users to send email, browse the Internet, and download video and books. Latest reports reveal that the device would offer a 7inch touchscreen display with broadband and Bluetooth connections. It would support one or two cameras and possess the ability to connect to cellular networks through a Blackberry handset.Some recent reports confirm that RIM would use a new operating system developed by QNX Software Systems. QNX became a part of RIM earlier this year and its open platform operating system is deployed across many business sectors such as aerospace, defense, medical, telecommunications, industrial and automotive. Wall Street Journal states that the new tablet would run on semiconductors from Santa Clara, a California-based Marvell Technology Group Inc and be manufactured by Quanta Computer Inc of Taiwan. RIM may unveil the Blackberry tablet at the Developer's Conference, which is scheduled to take place in San Francisco from September 27-30.
