Samsung unveils Corby TV, Metro TV in India

Samsung Corby TV and Metro TV are two new 3G CDMA mobile phones fully geared with broadband mobile TV features. The Corby TV, which is the enhanced version in the Samsung Corby series devices and Samsung Metro TV mobile phone is an upgraded version of earlier released Samsung Metro series handsets.

The Corby TV is an OMH-compliant mobile phone that comes equipped with a 2.8 inch QVGA screen display for seamless TV viewing experience. With its intuitive touch experience, the phone users can avail easy access to channel selection menu through one touch widget on the home screen.

The other key features of this device include a 2 megapixel camera, FM Radio, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. Euipped with push email support for Gmail, the device comes integrated with 8 social networking sites. You can also watch LIVE cricket and over 50 channels on your Samsung Corby TV mobile phone.

Both these new Samsung broadband 3G TV phones will come integrated with mobile app that will enable  users to watch Live TV or recorded content. Developed by Samsung in tie up with Apalya Technologies, MimobiTV Mobile TV app will offer users on-demand content streaming of more than 40+ live channels and 10+ Content on Demand channels on both CDMA 1X and EVDO 3G mobile networks. The Metro TV is preloaded with mobile tracker and gives access to 9 Indian regional languages support to the users. The device comes fully loaded with popular social networking sites and provides a mobile broadband capability upto 2.4 Mbps. Additionally, the Metro TV phone also offers up to 60 minutes of voice recording.

There is a good news for Samsung Corby Speed users as well as the company has introduced a free software upgrade for this device. The Corby TV phone will be offered at a price tag of Rs. 9,699 and the Metro TV will cost Rs. 6,999 in India. The Corby TV comes bundled with attractive offers via Tata Photon and Reliance Netconnect. With Tata Photon, the phone users can avail free Mobile TV subscription for 3 months.

For postpaid subscribers, it will offer free 15 GB data p.m. for 2 months, almost 150 hours of TV viewing p.m. For prepaid users, Tata Photon offers free 10 GB data for 2 months, nearly 100 hours of TV viewing for 2 months. With Reliance Netconnect, the Corby TV users can avail free mobile TV subscription for 2 months. The package offers free 15 GB data for 2 months, 150 hours of TV viewing p.m., for postpaid subscribers. And prepaid subscribers can get free 10 GB data p.m. for 1 month, about 100 hours of TV viewing for a month.
