
BPL Mobile transforms into Loop Telecom

India's oldest surviving telecom brand BPL Mobile has been rechristened as Loop Mobile

Mumbai's oldest telecom operator BPL Mobile announced the rechristening of its brand as Loop Mobile. “The change of the brand name to Loop Mobile is a well thought out conclusion of a journey that had begun some time back. For a telco brand that is Mumbai’s oldest, we understand the pulse & rhythm of the Mumbaikar. Our dedication towards our subscribers and our efforts in continuing to maintain the high performance standards and service delivery has always been acknowledged by various surveys including that done by the regulator. Mumbai’s oldest network is now also its newest one and already commands a healthy 2 million customers and rapidly growing,” said Sanjeev Chachondia, CEO, Loop Mobile. The company has been in the transition phase since July 2007 and after more than one and half years, it took the shape of Loop Mobile. Earlier, Loop Telecom was the subsidiary of BPL Mobile and has got license to operate in 21 circles.
