Samsung is expected to unfurl its latest product offering - the Samsung Galaxy Tab, in a bid to compete with major brands such as Nokia and Dell. As per a recent report by NDTV Gadgets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab would arrive in India by October this year. As reported earlier, some other highly anticipated devices are also in the pipeline, slated to be launched in October around the release time of Samsung Galaxy Tab. These big names include Nokia N8 and the Dell Streak. Samsung's Galaxy Tab was first spotted at the IFA Berlin 2010 and boasts of being among the biggest contenders of the iPad. Samsung realized the potential of the Indian market and thereby intended to unveil the Galaxy Tab next month in October.The latest iPad killer, Samsung Galaxy Tab sports a 7 inch touchscreen, which is slightly smaller than the Apple iPad with a 9.7 inch screen. Moreover, it is powered by the Google's Android 2.2 operating system. The Galaxy Tab is lighter than the iPad with about 380 grams. Samsung Mobile communications unit head JK Shin stated, "Samsung recognizes the tremendous growth potential in this newly created market and we believe that the Samsung Galaxy Tab brings a unique and open proposition to market." So come October, and big names such as Samsung, Nokia and Dell would offer an interesting range of feature-packed products to delight the Indian consumers.The Samsung Galaxy Tab would be available for sale in between the price range of Rs. 30,0000 to Rs. 40,000.
