LG announces the GM730, one of the first devices to use the new Windows Mobile 6.5 OS

LG have announced details of the LG-GM730, a Windows Mobile 6.5 device that lies at the heart of its upcoming “easy-to-use” smartphone range. Actual specs are thin on the ground at the moment, but the device does feature a large touchscreen display encased by a sleek, round-edged form factor. Speaking at MWC, CEO of LG, Skott Ahn claimed “This phone is a springboard for us. We will launch a number of smartphones this year; most of them will follow this same winning formula.” Aside of the sleek profile the “winning formula” would seem to comprise Windows Mobile 6.5 and a new 3D S-Class UI. The GM730 will also apparently ship with Internet Explorer 6.0 to enhance the mobile surfing experience. It sounds like this is just the start for LG this year, with the GM730 due to ship by the end of Q2 and more devices sure to be hot on it's heels if it performs well once release day comes, with no detailed specs to go on it's a little bit early to get too excited but if you must have Windows Mobile 6.5 as soon as possible this will probably be one of your best bets.
