Not gay over being gay? Created by Exodus International based in Orlando, Gay Cure application,‘helps’ users find freedom from homosexuality through different mediums such as the news, facts and resources. The app which is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad advocates for "freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus."
Apple's approval to include this app has stirred unrest within the community with reportedly more than 100,000 people signing a petition to pull of the app.
In a blog posted a few weeks ago the charity brags about the app getting a 4+ rating and the fact that it's available on the App Store shows Apple believes the app contains no objectionable material.
However, change.org disagrees, arguing Exodus’ message is ‘hateful and bigoted’.
This is not the first time the company has fired up outrage with its controversy. First it banned the shaking baby app and only last month the company had to pull apps with adult themed content.
As the public outcry continues, Apple is yet to comment on the issue, probably busy setting the stage for the launch of iPad 2.
