Google prohibits the use of custom UIs on Android 3.0

Google has stated that it will not allow custom UI's on the Android 3.0 for the time being

The internet is buzzing with the news of google nuking custom UIs from the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.According to The Unwired, at the Driodcon Conference in Berlin a LG spokesperson claimed that for the time being Google is prohibiting adjustments and changes of the Android 3.0 GUI.

Google has confirmed the news stating that the custom UIs will not be allowed right now but in later versions of Android 3.0.

This spells bad news for HTC and Samsung who have introduced custom UI's - Sense UI and TouchWiz for Android.

Maybe this is the reason why HTC declined to release the HTC Flyer on Android 3.0? It’d certainly make sense, as this means it could launch the Flyer on Android 2.3, complete with HTC Sense UI, and wait for the custom UI-friendly version of Android 3.0 to be released by Google.

It looks like Samsung will follow the suite, if its TouchWiz UI on its new range of Galaxy Tab products is not allowed. We wonder if this is the reason for the relaunch of Galaxy Tab range recently?

And also if google is learning from Apple and  taking control of its OS? Looks that way doesn't it.
