Google restricts Android 3.0 "Honeycomb" to smaller mobile phones
Google says "Honeycomb" is equipped for tablets not phones right now

Google has announced that it will hold back its source code for Android 2.3 aka "honeycomb".
In a email to PCMag.com, google stated, "while we're excited to offer these new features to Android tablets, we have more work to do before we can deliver them to other device types including phones. Until then, we've decided not to release Honeycomb to open source. We're committed to providing Android as an open platform across many device types and will publish the source as soon as it's ready."
While larger OEMs, such as HTC or Motorola have access to it, smaller phone manufacturers who wish to use honeycomb will have to wait for a indefinite amount of time till honeycomb is ready to be released.
There are also speculations that the Android will be split to cater to the tablets and phone markets, unlike Apple's iOS which is the same for its iPhone and iPad. Quite a headache for developers, but maybe not for the users who will get to enjoy a better experience once the honeycomb is tweaked.
