According to hi-tech.mail.ru, Samsung is in the process of redesigning its 2011 Samsung Galaxy S and it will be featuring a brand new 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T CPU.These folks were able to track down a comparison spec sheet, showcasing some of the 2011 Galaxy S’s vital statistics. While the information has not been confirmed by Samsung, we are happy to hear the news as it will put Galaxy S inline with other dual core-powered hitters.

From what we can gather, the 2011 Galaxy S edition will feature a brand new 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T processor, 14.4Mbps HSPA+ radio and a 1650mAh battery.

Judging by these specs, Samsung isn’t messing about – all three are significant boosts to an already very solid device.

We love the original Galaxy S, as well as the recently announced Galaxy S II, but we still think there’s room for a 2011 edition of original handset – even if it is somewhat overshadowed by the Galaxy S II.

According to reports, the 2011-edition Galaxy S is landing in Russia at the end of April.

There’s no word on whether, or when for that matter, the UK will be getting this update.

In Russia, the handset is priced at 24,000 Rubles ($846), which translates to approximately £524.46 here in the UK.

We will keep our eyes and ears glued to other developments surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S, so stay tuned!
