HTC Desire is one of the popular android phones of all time. The device was launched by HTC last year in February just after the Nexus One hit the market. As Nexus One is a Google's creation, it always get the updates before any other Android handset.
Nexus One has already got Gingerbread, however, the HTC Desire users have been waiting for it. But today, it has been officially announced by Three UK via Twitter that HTC Desire will get Android 2.3 Gingerbread in late April or early May.
Not only HTC Desire, but also HTC Desire HD, Desire Z and Incredible S will get Gingerbread very soon. So, we advice if you are using HTC Desire then don’t throw it away, as you will be receiving an update very soon. We can also expect this update very soon in India, once it comes to the market.
HTC Desire stands out as it sports a large screen and an extremely powerful processor. It also includes an excellent internal memory, while the physical design is attractive too.
The chassis of this handset has a rubberised finish that provides for an easy grip. The Desire is great for looking at pictures, visiting YouTube, viewing video, accessing Google Maps and viewing Web pages. Its capacitive screen display is highly responsive to finger sweeps and taps and the device also has a qwerty keyboard.
