Yesterday only we reported that Nokia is all set to launch 40 mobile phones in India this year. Already HTC is on a launching spree with the announcement of Desire HD, Desire Z and Incredible S in quick succession for this market. Whereas Samsung, Sony Ericsson and others are ready to toe the same line in the Indian market. After Nokia and HTC, it's now LG's turn to join the smartphone war in India.

Recently LG added World Cup limited edition LG Optimus One and now LG has officially announced its flaghip Android phones LG Optimus 2X and LG Optimus Black in the Indian market. The company further plans to bolster its presence in the smartphone segment with the launch of 10 new smartphones of its succesful Optimus series in India, reports Hindustan Times.

"We are looking at 10 new smartphones, two of which will be manufactured from the Ranjangaon factory by the end of this month. We hope the smartphones to contribute 20-25% of the overall mobile divisions revenue for LG," said Vishal Chopra, business head, LG Mobiles.

Also as per a report published on ET, LG is planning to bring a new unannounced 3D tablet device in India in June. Priced between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 40,000, the LG 3D tablet is poised to give a tough competition to the existing Samsung Galaxy Tab and Apple iPad in India.
