There is something about iPad2? How else could you explain the recent news that suggest that Apple is upping its production to roll out 12 million iPad 2 devices. As iPad 2 continues to grow in popularity so does it's demand. And it seems that more and more people want to have a piece of the pie, well Apple.
While DigiTimes claims that Apple is ramping up its production of iPad 2, MacRumors states that there will be ‘4.0 to 4.3 million iPad 2 units produced per month’ for total shipments of over ‘12 million during this quarter.’ iPad 2’s are selling like hotcakes with retailers the world-over experiencing stock shortages and delays on delivering the coveted tablet device to consumers. This resulted in some shipping orders being delayed for up to four to five weeks.
However, if Apple is ramping up its production to around the four million mark for each of the coming months in the remainder of this quarter, these demands should be well and truly met.
Apple has yet to release the official iPad 2 sales figures so far, but we expect it to be in the millions. After all, the device is selling faster than the original iPad.
There have been lot of revamps with iPad 2 that can also be attributed to the increase in demand.
For example Apple’s iWeb, a desktop-based website designing application is expected to be coming to the iPad 2 as per the recent reports. According to Patently Apple, Apple is planning to patent an iPad-version of its excellent performing desktop-based website designing application.
Looking at these trends, it seems Apple iPad 2 is bound to climb more on the popularity charts.
