Samsung Replenish, a environmentally-friendly phone is scheduled to be launched on May 5

Behold for the latest rumors making rounds on the internet and this time it is the launch of a 'green' Android Smartphone. Dubbed as Samsung Replenish, this environmentally friendly phone will be making a appearance in the market on May 5.

Folks at the Android Central have got hold of two leaked documents that indicate that Sprint will announce the "green" Samsung Replenish on April 15 and launch it on May 5.

Taking in consideration that phone is scheduled for launch in four days, there is very limited information available on this green device. We know that this phone is Android powered, maybe gingerbread since most of the new handsets are sporting this version.

Folks at pocketnow put together a list of specs but as such no formal information is available anywhere. But with April 15 approaching closer we expect to see some more information on that front.

According to Pocketnow:

"While the components sound strictly low- to mid-range, Replenish will offer at least one unique feature: an optional solar cover to provide environmentally-friendly power.

Replenish will feature a QWERTY keyboard and two-megapixel, fixed focus camera. Although there has been speculation that Replenish is that Droid Pro-like model we've seen a few times already, the device outline on the label location document seems much more oval than the photos of that portrait QWERTY.

The most interesting information, however, came from a single submission to the NenaMark benchmark online comparison database. According to that upload, SPH-m580 is equipped with a 600MHz Qualcomm processor and Adreno 200 GPU, runs version 2.2.1 of Android (Froyo), and sports a display resolution of only 320x240. Unfortunately the screen size was not available, but with just a QVGA resolution, it's probably on the small side.
