CNN has now released its Android smartphone application. The CNN Android app is worldwide available at free of cost in the Android market.
The new App mixes the intuitive navigation with an immersive news experience for providing the users a direct access to the channel's global resources.
Louis Gump, vice president of Mobile at CNN, stated “Android users are extremely discerning, and will accept nothing less than a first-rate app that showcases high quality, world-class content – and enables them to share it,”
He also added “We built the CNN App with these desires specifically in mind, and are excited to offer the millions of Android phone users around the world with access to CNN’s global reporting.”
It is available for the Android phones running over the 2.1 and above versions. The app showcases daily news through the mode of audio, text and images. It also provides live and on-demand video as well as a direct gateway to CNN iReport, which is the network’s participatory news community.
Moreover, this new CNN App attributes push-notification for breaking news alerts, also a widget which allows you to watch the latest headlines from diverse categories directly at the handset's home screen, while you don't even have to open the app.
