Research In Motion has officially announced its latest tablet device - the BlackBerry PlayBook. A brand synonymous with the business smartphones, its debut to the tablet market is poised to pose a tough competition to the various other tablets present in the market.
The BlackBerry PlayBook comes with Wi-Fi feature available at an entry level 16GB model costing $499, whereas the other more expensive models with 32GB or 64GB are priced at $599 and $699.
RIM's PlayBook sports a 1GHz dual-core processor, Blackberry OS and a 7-inches 1024x600 WSVGA capacitive LCD touchscreen. With effective dual cameras that can record full 1080p footage actually, PlayBook has a slight edge compared to the iPad 2.
Moreover, it also includes number of sensors for gaming and mapping. There are some other features that makes it more useful like GPS, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and a Digital Compass.
The company has announced that the PlayBook will be reaching to UK by Q2 this year; however, the pricing of the gadget in the UK is not yet disclosed.
It will take some time to reach India for sure, but we will break you the story as soon as it is announced for the Indian market.
