G'Five to launch budget Android phones in India by May

Chinese mobile manufacturing,G'Five is planning to launch budget Android smartphones in India. Much to the budget Android users delight, the market for Android smartphones seems to be expanding at  an exponential race. It doesn't come as a surprise since the market is still in its nascent stage and consumers are craving for more, for less.

Jaideep Chopra, Vice President of G’Five in an interview 
to a site revealed this plan. He said, “we will enter the Android smartphone space with multiple devices with different hardware options, but all phones will be based on Android 2.1 version.”

While the Android 2.2 Froyo and most recent gingerbread seem to be the most preferred phones, there is definitely a market for the Android 2.1 Eclair phones, especially among consumers who would like to get a taste of the 'Android'.

No further statement has been made by the company so far in regards to the handsets. With more budget Android phones in the pipeline, consumers can see some competitive pricing.

G'Five is also planning to launch its latest budget Android tablet in the Indian market. The upcoming Android tablet will feature a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with Android 2.1 OS and will be priced under Rs 15,000. The Vice President of G'Five, Jaideep Chopra, said, "we are ready with the product; we are just waiting for the right time to introduce the device. The pricing will be competitive with what is available in the market."

G'Five also opened its 10 new exclusive stores with the brand name of Mobispot and plans to further expand to 500 stores all over India this year.

G'Five hit limelight last year when IDC declared it as the second largest mobile phone supplier in India behind Nokia. With all the recent announcements  it seems G'Five is looking at stepping up its game.
