Guinness Book lists LG Optimus 2x as “first dual core smartphone”

LG Optimus 2x has recently earned a place in the Guinness Book as the world's first dual core smartphone. Guinness Book has officially listed LG's latest Android phone Optimus 2x as the first ever developed mobile phone which is equipped with a dual core processor.

The new Optimus 2x, was introduced in the market back on January 25 in South Korea. This high-end smartphone is embedded with a 1 Ghz nVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, which is highly powerful and performs great.

After the release of Optimus 2x, there are a number of new smartphones that have cropped up in the market and there are even more which will be announced in days ahead with the same processor, the Motorola Atrix being another phone with a dual core processor.

Jong-Seok Park, Vice President and head of operations of LG Electronics Mobile Communications has recently stated, "Optimus 2X’s registration on Guinness Book is a fruit from launching an innovative product that can lead the market. We’re going to establish technological leadership of LG Mobile in the smartphone market."

The LG  Optimus 2X boast of excellent features other than its dual core processor. It comes with a GSM Quad Band that runs HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and offers 1080p (1920x1080px) video recording, 480x800 capacitive IPS Display and an effective 8-megapixels camera with LED Flash.

Additionally, the device packs a 1.3-megapixels front facing camera for video calling and it is capable of video playback at 1920x1080 pixels, HDMI mirroring and includes DLNA. The LG phone is powered by Android 2.2.1 and offers 8GB of internal memory, while it can be extended up to 32GB.

The Android smartphone is equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 , WiFi b/g/n  , A-GPS for connectivity and includes an excellent browser with Adobe Flash Player 10.1. For music, the device offers stereo speakers and FM radio, other than an excellent music player. Furthermore, it comes powered with its 1500 mAh 3.7 V battery that offers long hours of talk time.
