RIM has recently launched its two new BlackBerry smartphones that are considered the thinnest BlackBerry devices to date. Both these new smartphones are also the first to run the new Blackberry 7 operating system. The newly released BlackBerry devices are the Blackberry Bold 9900 and 9930.
As per Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO, Research In Motion, "The new BlackBerry Bold smartphones and BlackBerry 7 OS are inspired by millions of customers around the world who want the ultimate combination of performance, functionality and style."
He further added, "These fully-loaded and beautifully crafted smartphones offer a highly refined user experience with blazingly fast performance, a brilliant touch screen and an outstanding typing experience."
The company says that the new handsets are just 10.5mm thick and both the smartphones include 1.2GHz processors inside, impressive new Liquid Graphics Touchscreens and also works over 4G HSPA+ mobile networks.
The new Liquid Graphics touchscreen is the main new attribute offered with both these devices. The new smartphones also comes powered by updated Blackberry OS 7. The company boasts of the screen display of the devices by saying that it is excellent for up to 60 fps performance for video and gaming.
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 supports HSPA+ networks, while the BlackBerry 9930 supports CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and HSPA + global roaming on GSM/UMTS networks. Also, both the new smartphones come equipped with NFC technology that allows the devices to be used for mobile payments and much more.
The other key features of these devices include an integrated compass, APIs and support for HD video. Most of the features in the new devices are somewhat same, such as an 8GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot that accepts up to 32GB, and an effective 5-megapixels camera on the back side of the covering.
Although, there's no official word on India lauch of these devices, but we expect that these new BlackBerry smartphones will perform reasonably well in this market when released.
