RIM has revealed recently that its upcoming BlackBerry smartphones will come equipped with Microsoft's Bing search engine for default search and mapping apps on the device.
Microsoft has also confirmed that the its Bing search engine and maps would be available on BlackBerry devices, as default service. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said, "Bing will be deeply integrated at the BlackBerry OS (operating system) level."
According to Ballmer, US software giant would invest uniquely in the Blackberry platform, besides its own Windows Phone platform. Microsoft made this announcement during the BlackBerry World developers conference at Orlando, Florida.
Now after this collaboration, all of the Blackberry gadgets will get Bing as the preferred search tool in the browser and it will become the default search and map application for all the RIM's creations, as per the Bing team in the blog post.
For the time being, Bing is also going to offer a default search experience and map application for the recently launched RIM's latest creation Blackberry Playbook.
Let's see how Bing as a default search engine works on the upcoming BlackBerry devices and how users respond towards this initiative.
