Acer India launches Iconia series tablets

Acer has come up with its 5 new Iconia series tablet devices in India, which were launched officially yesterday in the Indian market. These advanced Acer tablets are available within the price range of Rs. 27,990 to Rs. 70,000.

One of the most renowned PC vendors, Acer has introduced its new line up of Iconia series tablets namely, Iconia Tab A500, Iconia A100, Iconia Smart A300, Iconia dual screen notebook and Iconia W500.

Mr W S Mukund, Managing Director, Acer India stated, "With the launch of the Iconia range of tablets in India, we believe this technology will change the dynamics of consuming digital content. With the growing demand for the tablets in India, we expect tablets to significantly contribute to our overall revenue in the calendar year 2011."

One of the new Iconia series devices, the  full capacitive Acer Iconia Tab A500 comes powered with both the Android Honeycomb 3.0 and Windows Phone 7 platform. The Iconia Tab A500 features a 10.1-inch fully capacitive touchscreen. The Acer A500 tablet is 13.3mm thick and is designed using aluminum casing and provides a glossy finish.

These tablets are powerful and are integrated with HDMI output, full size USB port, mini USB port, Micro SD card and Sim Card support to provide instant connectivity, thus making them multi usage gadgets.

Apart from these, the Iconia-branded tablets also include various other advanced features such as instant connectivity to social networking sites, excellent battery backup and numerous other utility features that makes them actually advanced and improved tablets.

Acer is planning to double up its dealership network from current 2,500 to to 5,000 by the end of this year. The company owns a manufacturing unit in Pondicherry (India), which can produce up to 70,000 units per month.
