Sony Ericsson is certainly engaged in developing a range of Android smartphones these days. The latest one to adorn its Android portfolio is the new Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro. This new smartphone encompasses all the basic qualities of Xperia product line.
This Xperia Acro is initially announced for the Japanese market and it comes integrated with high-end features such as the infrared port, mobile wallet, and mobile TV functionality.
The new Acro is basically a modified version of Xperia Arc, although there are some minor tweaks in this Japan-only variant. The device can be defined as a step back in design and a step ahead on the features front when compared to the Xperia Arc. The device also supports Near Field Communication (NFC) and includes a TV tuner.
Sony Ericsson Acro resembles a lot with the earlier released Xperia X10. Whereas, its specifications and features are quite similar to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. This latest smartphone is an interesting device that is expected to perform well in the market.
The Acro packs a superb 8-megapixels Exmor R camera with LED flash and sports a large 4.2-inch display with 854 x 480 resolution. The device allows the users to share pictures and videos in HD on a HDTV through a built in HDMI-connector. The smartphone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and weighs 135g, may be due to its thicker size.
The Sony Ericsson Acro will probably enter the Japanese market by this summer and will be available in Black and White colour options.
