Google has announced many new developments around its Android platform at its Googel I/O developer's conference event at San Francisco. The launch of Google Ice Cream Sandwich, the next version of its Android platform, has been one of the significant announcements.
Furthermore, the company has now unveiled Google Movies rental services for the Android smartphones and tablet devices. The other big announcements included Google Honeycomb 3.0 upgrade to 3.1, cloud-based Google music, Android Market for Google TV and Android@Home.
Google has recently tied up with Sony Pictures, NBC Universal and Warner Brothers to populate its Android market with loads of popular titles in its movie rental section. However, it has earlier indicated on the same lines when it declared that YouTube is offering 3,000 additional movies for its on-demand rental service.
The new Google Movie rental services for Android devices are now available for the smartphone and tablet users. The company has ported a good number of movies on the Android market to help enjoy users a vast collection of movies. You can avail movie rentals directly from the Android market which will be offered at $1.99.
The Google Movie rental services work like this. You can either download and store the movies to your Android smartphones to watch it later or you can stream it to watch the movie instantly. The users have the time frame of 30 days to watch a rented movie and if started, you get a a full day or 24 hours to finish it.
