Nokia is gearing up to introduce first Mango-flavoured WP7 device

Published on May 25, 2011

Ever since Nokia announced its partnership with Microsoft back in February, the speculations were rife that the company may soon launch a device based on Windows Phone 7 OS.

While Nokia may be gradually parting ways with the Symbian operating system, the recent developments suggest that a Nokia-branded WP7 device is in the making by the Finnish manufacturer.

Microsoft announced the new updates for its Windows Phones 7 OS dubbed as 'Mango' or Windows Phone 7.1. The new update will fetch over 500 features to the Mango operating system.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, at the event told, this next update should bring “over 500 new features” to Windows Phone 7. Of course, a “feature” here could be simply described as anything from “massively awesome overhaul” to a “slightly louder beepy noise when you receive Facebook requests”, so we’ll have to wait and watch that how this all actually works.

The worlds largest mobile phone manufacturing company, Nokia has also made two important announcements. One of that is, the Finnish mobile company will initially launch a single Windows Phone gadget, while the other is that device will be running latest Mango OS.

Nokia has plans to use improved social network integration, backing those with several inboxes consolidate email accounts with the Linked Inbox attributes and the capability to connect via Facebook, SMS and Windows Live Messenger with new threads attribute.

Although, there is no official words on the launch date or other details of this device, but we expect that Nokia's Windows Phone 7 Mango may see the daylights some time later this year.
