Alcatel and ICE3 have launched a new handset in the Indian market which the company claims to be a 'radiation free' device. The handset comes with SAR level of only 0.67 Watt/Kg (averaged over a volume of 10 gram of tissue, for head).
The specific absorption rate (SAR) indicates the amount of radiation that gets absorbed into a device users head. It simply means that the higher the SAR rating the more radiation you absorb into your head.
The Alcatel OT 806D comes with superb specifications as well. It's an attractive touch phone which comes integrated with QWERTY keypad. The dual SIM device offers 2.8 inch TFT touch screen, full QWERTY keypad, 2-megapixels camera and push mail features.
The entry-level handset packs music player, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, social networking tools, Java and USB data cable. Powered with 850 mAh battery, the device promises up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 650 hours of standby time.
The award winning radiation free Alcatel ICE3 OT 806D is priced at Rs. 4,499 in India.
