As reported earlier, the HTC Wildfire S is now officially announced in India. The device was earlier spotted for pre-order on some leading online retailers but it has now hit stores in the Indian market.
Powered by the Android OS, the Wildfire S is an affordable and easy-to-use smartphone. It combines great design and intuitive functionality. Integrated with the HTC Sense, the HTC Wildfire S is HTC's one of the smallest smartphones ever – measuring just 10.13cm long and 5.94cm wide.
The next version of Wildfire sports a distinctive 3.2 inch, HVGA display and fully customisable home screen with your favorite apps, widgets and content. It packs a 5-megapixels colour camera with auto focus, expandable microSD memory and support for a variety of audio and video formats and HTC Locations tool.
"The HTC Wildfire S is a stylish looking smartphone, offering fantastic value-for-money and great features, and we are delighted to launch it in India. The HTC Wildfire has been among our best selling devices in India. Hence, we are extremely excited and positive that the HTC Wildfire S will garner a tremendous response from Indian mobile phone users”, said Faisal Siddiqui, Country Manager, HTC India.
The smartphone offers social networking apps, Android Market and a new integrated online e-reading experience utilising a new e-book store powered by Kobo. Then there is a new, mobile-optimized e-reader that offers the ability to highlight, annotate and quickly search for definitions or translate unfamiliar terms.
Available in two cool and funky colors, dark grey and silver white, the Wildfire S will be available at a price of Rs. 14,700 at all authorized HTC resellers across the country.
